Personal Statement
I jump unattached in USATF meets and have won several indoor, outdoor, youth, and junior olympic national titles. I currently hold Oak Hill United School Corporation long jump record, breaking it as a sophomore with a jump of 22' 5". This past season I broke it several more times and it's currently at 23' 3 3/4". This past summer I competed at Kansas University and won Junior Olympic nationals with a jump of 23' 4". Just to give you an idea of how I have progressed, at indoor state 2017 I was jumping 19 feet. Mid season I jumped the school record. The outdoor state meet I only jumped 21 feet and then mid summer I jumped my 23' 4". The difference this year was hard work. Waking up early to swim 3,000-4,000 yards helped my work ethic. I now have found that I have to make opportunities myself. More importantly Academics come first. I take as many dual-credit and AP courses not for the credit, but to push myself. The pain of regret lasts longer than the pain of working hard.
