Personal Statement
I am not sure how I stack up to other people, but I am a hard worker with great work ethic. I am ready to work hard to not only keep my GPA high but also to compete to the best of my ability. I do not quit under any circumstances. When it gets tough is when it gets fun because it shows what you are really made of. I want to run track at the collegiate level. I would be a good asset to your track team because I am versatile and can run the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x1, 4x2, and the 4x4. Also, there have been many hurdles in my journey to be becoming a college level athlete. One of the hurdles was a back injury I received from lifting in track during my freshman year. It was a bone spur on my lower back that was agitated while dead lifting. It caused pain up and down my lower back. It hurt to walk and put me in severe pain to run. I went to the doctor and they said it would just be painful, but would not cause any problems with my body. I decided then and there I was not going to let it stop my track season and my freshman year turned out to be a great comeback year. It also has made me set goals for college to stay at the top of my class and improve my times in track events.
