Personal Statement
I have many collegiate goals and many high school goals and aspirations. For high school I have set the goal of achieving all-state award in 300m hurdles by my junior year, and a top three finish at state in the 300m hurdles by my senior year. My collegiate goals right now are to make it to nationals and to do well at nationals. What makes me a good candidate for your team is that I have ran track ever since sixth grade and have worked to my full potential ever since the first day of practice. One of my biggest fears in life is losing, and this fear pushes me to be the best I can be. To sum up why I am a good candidate is that I am determined, hard-working, academically successful, and get along well with people. I am different from others in character because I stay humble to the team and the coaches and I always listen to what the coaches have to offer. I am different from others in athletics because I have already worked with a college athlete (Ross Armey, Grace College) and I know what to expect going into college level Track and Field. And finally I am different from others in academics because not only can I work hard every day in practice, but I also work hard on my studies outside of classes and currently have a 3.8 GPA. I also was number 1 out of 375 students in my freshmen year of high school for two semesters.
