Personal Statement
My goals in the future for college track is to learn from my coaches and my peers to become the best athlete that I can be. I am a very competitive person and track is a sport that I always want to work at to be better than I was yesterday. In track I am always looking for the next step to improve my events and I practice during school season, track club season, and on my own time. In a sense of character I am always focused around respect. I believe in a treat others how you would want to be treated attitude, and always make sure to show respect and kindness to everyone that I meet. Coaches especially deserve respect for taking the time to transfer their knowledge trying to help people become better athletes. Whenever I am involved in a sport season, camp, or just work with a coach for one time to get tips, I make sure to shake their hand, and personally thank them for coaching me. In an academic sense my competitive side also shows through because I am always trying to be the best. I am ranked first in my class as a 4.0 student and hope to continue this on the college level. Currently I am involved in a program at my high school called the dual graduation program that will allow me to graduate with both my high school diploma, and my associates degree. I do not like to take the easy way out and like to be challenged. In order to get better at something I believe that it is important to think of practice as a competition, and work harder then your competitors. Thank you to whoever took the time to read this and is considering me to be a future athlete at their school.
