Personal Statement
My goal is to throw javelin at a Division 1 school where I can continue to compete athletically and also receive the best business education at the same time. I love to compete at everything I do and strive to be the best at whatever it is I do. I play football and basketball for my school and love competing in team sports. When I stopped playing baseball after my freshman year, I went out for track and did HJ, 400, Discus and Javelin. I love helping other throwers with some of the techniques I have learned from other coaches and the KU track camp last summer. Academically, I challenge myself too and will have several college credit courses completed by the time I graduate next year. As an athlete, I will do anything a coach asks me to do and to the best of my ability.
2019 season started out well and by mid-season I had improved by PR from last year by 6 feet. Then I got sick but competed anyway at the KU Relays and then injured my groin. I was not 100% until the State Meet where I PR at 165ft,3in, but I felt like it was a 10 foot improvement based on what I was throwing after injuring my groin. My goals this year were to throw 175, finish top 3 in each event and make it to State. I didn't make #1, accomplished #2 except for league meet due to groin, and accomplished #3. Next year I am getting on the podium at State.
