Personal Statement
I want to become an anesthesiologist. My love for running began when I decided to join the cross country team in 7th grade. It is an adrenaline rush year after year to step onto the course or track for the first meet of the season. I love being a part of the team (which is considered family). It is rewarding to be a leader on my team and to mentor the younger runners just starting out. I know my love for running competitively won't stop when I graduate high school so I want to continue improving and run in college.
My greatest running accomplishment thus far is being a state qualifier for the Kansas 3A Cross Country Championship for the 2015 season. I finished 69th at the state meet. I have struggled with my season (2016) fighting injury and not competing in half of my regular season meets. While I didn't PR this season my team did get the opportunity to compete at the state meet once again this year. I finished in 40th place this year and took just over 30 seconds off of my time at Rim Rock Farm.
