Personal Statement
As a student-athlete I have been told that my academics always come before my athletics, and that is something that I have been having troubles with. Standing at around a 2.7 GPA, I know I have quite a bit to improve on in the classroom and on the track and I am willing to go through the steps to do so.
I have not acquired a vast amount of accomplishments as an athlete just yet, but here are the accomplishments I have gotten so far: All-State Cross Country. As I said previously I have not received very many accomplishments as an athlete, but the determination and aspirations that I have put forth will become something.
Now I have participated in NEK Track Club for 1 year and I plan on running for the same track club for indoor season this year as well. I had an exceptional time running indoor, and I'm hoping to break into a good indoor PR this season.
Although I excel in XC, I like to think of myself as a middle-distance sprinter/jumper which varies my events. I currently run the 100m, 200m, and the 400m as well as jumping in the broad/long jump. My PRs in the events are: 400m - 54 seconds, 200m - 24.2 seconds, long jump - 17'3", as well as running the 100m dash in 12.0 seconds. I know my PRs are not exceptional but I am improving, I will do anything in my power to better myself.
