I believe I am a good candidate for collegiate track because I have a strong commitment to my team and I give my best effort at both practice sessions and in competition. One of my favorite parts of the sport is being part of a cohesive team. Training with other athletes who share my goals and passion for running is motivating and the camaraderie of the team gets me through challenging workouts.
I have always wanted to reach the highest levels of competition in the sports I've played. For track, I have steadily improved and want to see how far I can go. It is my goal to compete for a top collegiate program that will challenge me to reach my potential. Beyond college, it would be a dream to compete as a professional runner.
What separates me from other recruits is my ability to focus in competition without letting my nerves get the best of me. I am determined to perform my best when the stakes are the highest. I am driven to improve my running by putting in the work and digging deep during meets. Over the past few years, I have improved steadily and know that my best years of competition are still ahead.
In the classroom, I am also steadily improving my performance. I have learned how to budget my study time with a busy schedule of training and competition and believe that being a committed athlete makes me a better student. I also know that taking care of my body, including eating well and making smart decisions about how I spend my time, will be even more important as I up my game as a collegiate athlete.
