Becoming a college athlete is a very high aspiration of mine. I am currently attending Hermon High School. This school has a long standing tradition of excellence in sports and academics. My family moved me to this school system recently to afford me the opportunity of achieving my highest potential. In Northern Maine, I have been ranked one of the top athletes for my age group but I have been traveling throughout New England to compete against athletes that are stronger in order to improve my own abilities. Recently, I competed at the Hershey National Indoor Track and Field meet where I raced other boys my age from all over the country. I ran in the 1500 and the 3000. I was ranked 10th in the Nation for the 1500 and 11th for the 3000. My times were 4:42 and 10:26 respectively.
I was the only freshman chosen for Varsity on my high school team where we placed first in our conference and regional meets.
Academically, I am currently enrolled in honors classes including Pre Calculus as a freshman at Hermon High School where I have maintained all A’s and B’s. My family has always set the standard that academics come first and I understand how important it is to maintain good standing and budget my time to work to become an elite athlete. I have the drive that you may not see in an average 15 year old. I know what I want to attain and I am working every day to get there. These are just some of the things that make me a great candidate for a team and what makes me different from other recruits you may be considering.
