During the Covid 19 pandemic, my life changed in a really significant way. My family moved which meant a new school for me. During this time, it was difficult meeting people so I joined a running club. I was barely able to keep up. After a few times, I decided I wanted to be better at running. I ran on my own, it was one of the best choices I have ever made. My goal is to compete at a national level and if possible, break a few records along the way. I know this is not an easy goal. It all starts with discipline and commitment. This summer, I ran 312 miles and walked 806 miles. I am looking for a program that can help me excel both academically and athletically.
What makes me stand out from other students is my unwavering commitment to the sport. Regardless of the weather, rain, snow or scorching heat, I run. It is my passion and my purpose. I pride myself on my ability to pace and be smart when I run or race. A goal of mine is to try to set myself up as a good example to my team mates and to others. I am someone who enjoys feedback and am a very competitive runner and push myself to be the best I can be.
Beyond track, I am as deeply committed to my school work. In school, I strive being to be cooperating and competitive while maintaining a strong work ethic to ensure homework is done on time. I am also deeply committed to giving back to my community, I have been a Boy Scout since I was in second grade. My goal of becoming an Eagle Scout will be realized in the next 2 years. Through various volunteer actives, such as helping organizing and participating a local 5k, assisting my public library, or cleaning up beaches, I am committed to giving back to my community. This is an essential part of who I am and what I strive for becoming a valued member in my community.
In essence, I am searching for a college that not only provides me with an excellent education but where I can also pursue my passion of running. I am open to exploring all options to find a good fit that aligns with my dedication to the sport and my personal growth. My end goal is to become an inspiration to others and to feel pride in the person I become through this journey.
Thank you for considering me for your team. I am looking forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute pursuing to your institution while pursuing my dreams and an exceptional education.
