I began both winter and outdoor track my freshman year for my High School as well as cross country my junior year and have absolutely fallen in love with it since. It is a goal of mine to not only win at least one divisional championship but to continue to compete through college.
Being captain of the team, I try my hardest on and off the track to push my teammates and myself to the best of their abilities. For example at the beginning of the winter season my team's 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of two freshmen, a sophomore, and me, the junior anchor runner, was not even expected to qualify for divisionals, but through hard work and determination, our team is on our way to competing in the all state campionship meet. Keeping a positive attitude and encouraging my teamates to truly be the best they can be is the quality I pride myself the most on.
Being near the top of my class as well as participating in multiple extracurricular events, I have learned to balance academics and athletics and trruly love stepping onto my track every day, as beat up and old as it is.
