Personal Statement
My name is Jon Lam and I go to Framinghamham High School in Framingham MA. I would love to run Track and Field at the collegiate level. I started Track & Field in my Freshman year of High School. I joined the track team because my dad said it was a good way for me to stay in shape for soccer. After my first month of Track, I became obsessed with the sport. My coach saw a lot of potential in me and I started to take the sport more and more seriously leading me to my outdoor spring season freshman year. He got me to participate in many different events from jumping to hurdles and got me to compete in the state decathlon at the end of the season. Now I am a very serious Track & Field athlete with a lot of knowledge in many events looking to further my athletic and academic goals at the collegiate level. I am a very hard worker both academically and athletically. If you tell me to do something I will do it in a good time frame. I was made a captain on the Framingham High School track team at the beginning of my junior winter track season. I am good at communicating with others on the team to make it a very safe and good environment. I take charge of events and know how far I can push myself. In my sophomore year of High School, I became a state champion in the 4x50 dash shuttle relay with my relay team- setting a school record in the process.
Academically I am an all honors student and I am taking 3 AP classes my senior year. I currently have a 4.2 GPA and I am apart of National Honors Society. I strive to push myself to the limit and get better and better every single day no matter what I am doing.
