James Cassidy '23 Recruiting Profile

I enjoy throwing because it is both physically and technically challenging; coming from rock climbing and weight lifting, I’ve found joy in training both the technical and strength aspects of sports. Competing in an event that relies on both these elements, I’ve seen progress as I’ve gotten stronger and improved my technique. Being part of a team that pushes each other on these two points day in and day out is a huge reason for my success. This environment has led us to set several school records both individually and collectively, all while being Juniors. 

The intersection between disciplines has always been my strong suit. I have thrived when I can understand how the different disciplines I’m studying are interconnected – whether this means applying technique from Discus to Shotput, or bridging software and hardware within a robot. Moving forward I’m looking for a college full of people determined to be better, both academically and athletically.
