Personal Statement
I am a highly committed 3 season athlete, having competed at the varsity level in all three of my seasons as a sophomore. I run XC in the fall, Track in the spring, and I Nordic Ski in the winter, while balancing my training with academics and maintaining predominantly A’s in a course load that includes 3 honors classes. Some of my goals as I look to my collegiate experience are to compete at a high level and continue to push myself to the best I can be; grow as a leader; and prepare myself with an engineering education which will open professional opportunities later in life. One thing I've learned through competing in a variety of sport/activities is that there is so much that you can learn from one activity that can be useful to apply in another activity. As I enjoy and am competitive in both XC and Nordic skiing, I am interested in opportunities to continue my pursuit in either or both of these sports at the collegiate level. Outside of my main activities, I am pursuing a black-belt in karate, I am a US-Grassroots certified soccer referee, and a student founder and leader of peer support group at my high school. I believe my level of motivation and commitment to both my athletic and scholastic career, as well as my experience in a variety of activities, sets me apart from my peers.
