My plan for college is simple; to be the first in my family to graduate with a 4yr degree. I plan on doing that by earning a scholarship to put MYSELF through college. Academically, it my personal goal to complete and pass all of my classes. At this time I am undecided on a major but will be pursuing General Business classes.
On an athletic level, it is my goal to be a "stand out" and win as many events as I possibly can to help my team. Part of being a stand out athlete, in my opinion, is being a great teammate, always making people laugh, having a good attitude, BEING COACHABLE, and working as hard as I can to better myself and everyone around me. I am a leader. I have been the captain of both of my high school Cross Country and Track teams the last two years. I have went to States for both teams in individual events and I would love to be a part of great leadership and team sportsmanship at the collegiate level.
What makes me different? I have learned the most from my youngest sister, Joby, who has Down Syndrome. I've learned to respect everyone for their abilities and not their disabilities. The fact that I can see someone for who they are on the inside as well as the outside, makes me a better person all around. She's also taught me patience. Although its great to push for excellence, she's showed me that it takes hard work to reach your everyday goals.
Academically and athletically I plan to put in the work to be my best, to give back, and teach what I've learned to others. That, is how I plan to be successful in college and my future.
