My names Kayenn Mabin and I'm a senior at Kalamazoo Central Highschool. I've been running track since 7th grade and have been the top hurdler every year since then. My freshman year of track was canceled due to Covid-19 but fast forward a year and I hopped back into the mix during my sophomore year and managed to place 7th at the state meet, making me all state my sophomore year. I told myself and my coaches that I wasn't happy with that and that I would be first my junior year. After that I started AAU Track and ran for the blazers and qualified for nationals in all 4 of my events.
During my junior year I was able to lower my PR multiple times in the 110m and the 300 hurdles. My team qualified for team-state and the state meet as well. I was state champion in the 110 hurdles and 4th place all state in the 300 hurdles. I went to track camp over the summer and qualified for nationals again as well. I am coachable and always looking for ways to improve myself so I can break My PR and get faster. I don't consider anything but a 1st place to be a win and I never give up on what I want to accomplish.
