Personal Statement
I started to run track in middle school only for the reason that my football coach made us do something in the offseason. At first, I did not take it all that serious. I did not start off at high jump right away. It wasn't until the middle of the season in my 7th-grade season when I first tried high jump. That's when I realized that if I actually work at this, I could get pretty good at it. So I started focusing on high jump more for the rest of my 7th and 8th-grade season and broke the middle school record with a jump of 5'11".
Once I got into high school, I was a three-sport athlete. I was on varsity for basketball and track and I was on the JV team for football. Academically, I started to take some college classes in my sophomore year. By the time I graduate, I will have taken 10 dual enrollment (college and high school credit), classes and 3 advanced placement classes.
My long term goal is to go to school to become a Nurse Anesthetist. I have always been interested in doing something in the medical field, but it was actually my sister who introduced me to this idea of becoming a nurse. She is currently in her third year of college and also runs track for the Lake Erie team. She also plans on being a nurse anesthetist.
