Personal Statement
I have been in love with track ever since I was five years old. I can remember watching the Olympic milers race around the track. Then in sixth grade I had the same opportunity as them, to start the sport of track and field.
What sets me apart from many other runners is that I do both sprints and distance depending on the meet and what my team needs for the day. This past season my coach had me do the 400M and 800M because it was what my team needed. I consider myself a long sprinter and mid-distance runner, but can do a variety of events. My favorite events are the 1500, 800, 400, Long Jump and relays. I'm willing to try new events and understand there is always room for improvement. With my multi-sport skills, I think I have the potential to be a Decathlon Athlete. I have speed and endurance along with coordination and strength. Steeple is also something I'd like to give a try.
I am a four sport athlete. I run Cross Country in the Fall while being a starter on the Varsity Football Team. I am also a member of the Varsity basketball team. I am an honor roll student, National Honor Society member and my class President. I was just recently awarded a position on the Michigan High School Athletic Association Student Advisory Board for the class of 2023 and represented South East Michigan as a Boy's State delegate. I was named Captain of the football team and basketball team as a Junior. Being a good student leader in the classroom is just as important as being a good athlete and team member. I also help coach youth sports and think it's very important to be a good role model for the younger kids.
My dream is to be part of a college track team and obtain a degree in Business Management and work in the trades.
