I’ve been running cross country and track for 5 years and am entering my 6th season. My goals for the upcoming cross country season are to get stronger and faster as the season goes on. I want to individually and from a team perspective qualify for Division 1 State meet. I’m striving to break 16:00 for a 5K. In track, my goal is to break 9:30 in the 3200M. Some good qualities I offer is that I am very coachable and try to be a leader as a Varsity member by not only encouraging my classmates, but also giving advice to help the underclassmen. I’m always looking for ways to improve my running capabilities as I have a great passion for the sport of running.
I am an active member in my youth group at SS. John and Paul Parish as well as a member of National Honor Society. In both groups, I have the same goal of helping others in need who are less fortunate.
The obstacle of having iron deficiency my sophomore year has made me a tougher and more intelligent runner. I have learned that nothing is given to you and everything must be earned. Having this experience and earning All County and All Conference Honors for Cross Country my Junior year has shown me that I can come back from anything if I have the right mentality towards it. My hope is to continue my running career at a collegiate level as well as earning a quality education. I know that with my work ethic and determination, I can be successful at both.
