Personal Statement
Running has always been a passion for me, it's a deeply personal and raw experience. Even before I started winning medals and getting results I loved the sport. I love the idea of seeing how far and how hard you can push yourself before you start to break. Every meet is a chance to stand up, keep your chin held high, and find out what you're worth.
Although running is an "individual" sport I feel a very strong bond with both my Track and Cross Country team. I'm captain of both the Track (my school) and Cross Country (neighboring school) teams and this has really helped me developed myself into a leader. Supporting my team isn't just something I have to do as a captain, it's something I want to do. I am very invested in my teammates and I love giving the younger runners advice and praise. Nothing is better than knowing someone looks up to you and seeing that look in their eyes when you tell them you're impressed.
