Personal Statement
My primary goal for my future is to advance my academic accomplishments at a school where I can learn effectively and succeed. My belief is that athletics is a means that supports this goal and gives me an improved chance of achieving it (beyond being fun). Running is a non-intellectual break from the sitting, learning, studying, and testing of the school day. I find it hard to keep myself going without a daily run (preferably outside, which can be difficult during the winer here in MN!) I love the freedom and individuality of cross country running as much as the focus and determination it requires.
