Personal Statement
One of my many collegiate goals is to run for a Division I school. I have dreamed of running for Division I since I ran my first race back in second grade. It was a 2 mile fun run and I finished it in 14 minutes. I want what every athlete wants - to be the best, to run the fastest. The difference between myself and other recruits is I don't do anything halfway. I don't win every race, but when I say I am the hardest worker in the room, I mean it. Whether it's practice and training, or in the classroom, I do the work and give my all every single time. I have realized that running isn't just getting out and putting on miles - in all sorts of weather. It is also training the mind to be disciplined and open to learning new things. I have worked hard to find ways to balance running, studying, working and enjoying my time in high school. I believe to succeed you have to love what you do; and the way I have balanced everything keeps my love for running going strong.
