Personal Statement
I have been competing in sports for practically my entire life, they are a major part in who I am. Me and my family have moved around quite a few times, and each new place I go, sports help me find friends and other people who are important in my life. I have gone to school in three different states, North Carolina, Wyoming and Nevada.
I started competing in track and field in 7th grade, however I have been competing in different sports since kindergarten. I have played football since the third grade and finished my final season this year. I have been playing basketball since I was in kindergarten and stopped playing after my sophomore year. After that year I moved to Nevada.
Since I started my track and field career I have tried and competed in many different events; but I fell in love with shot put and discus. Later on I also found a love for high jump, but throwing still stood tall. My highlight of my track and field career was getting my personal best in high jump and discus and making state for both events. Being able to do that with my teammates who I have competed with since middle school, and friends with since 6th grade, really made that entire season the best it could be. Though I have not competed with them since, I still cherish that moment knowing I did it with my best friends.
