Personal Statement
I am very grateful to have been successful in my athletic career, and I have placed in several varsity meets and have earned my team's recognition and respect. I was awarded the Coaches' Award, winter of my sophomore year, because of my dedication and hard work towards the program. I was voted to be a four time captain of winter and spring track (junior and senior year). Since freshman year, when I first learned about throwing, my passion and hunger to be the best that I could be grew, and continues to grow. Since freshman year, I have stayed late after practice, sometimes alone, to keep practicing until I saw improvement. I have been recognized by my coaches for attending every mandatory, as well optional practice available in order to continually improve and be the best I could be. Additionally, I also help others by coaching them and helping to make them better athletes. Not only am I dedicated to my sport, but also in the classroom. I regularly spend extra time with teachers during my lunch or study hall to go over what was learned in class or anything that I may need help with. During each day; athletics, academics, and anything else in life, I try to be the best I can be and focus on every moment as it is the most important thing to me. I don't compare myself to others or best someone, I just focus on beating myself, and it pays off when I do.
