Both in the classroom and on the playing field, the ability and desire to constantly challenge myself by always setting new and higher goals is something that I not only don't shy away from, but it is something that I have actively pursued. Attaining goals is extremely important to me, but once met, it is equally as important for me to set my sights on a new goal and not be satisfied with what I have accomplished. While academic and athletic accomplishments are a driving force for me, the manner in which I reach them is equaly as important. Never forgetting that even when competing in an individual event, I am part of a team, whose common goal is to be the best they can be, and the support to be given to my teammates is something that was taught to me as far back as I can remember. Similarly, while striving for excellence in the classroom is a priority, it can be met while at the same time being willing to help a fellow student. I have always been described by my coaches as a team player and someone who is coachable. This reputation is important to me, and I look forward to having the opportunity to prove myself to my coaches at the next level and make them, my team and my university proud of me as a student athlete.
