Personal Statement
My name is David B. Zambrano, and I am a jumper/sprinter from Newton, New Jersey. I am a dedicated track and field athlete, and I have high hopes of running and jumping at the collegiate level. My sophomore year, I placed third in the 100m at the state Sectional meet with a time of 11.36. I also broke my school record for the triple jump with a distance of 42ft 1.75in. For my junior year indoor season, I ran a 6.49 in the 55m dash, improving from my 6.85 sophomore year best. With this time, I am aiming at running under 11 seconds for the 100m during the outdoor season.
As all student-athletes should know, education comes first. For my first two years in high school, I achieved a 4.28 weighted GPA. In college, I would like to study in the field of Engineering, specifically Chemical Engineering.
As a member of the National Honor Society, a highly selective group of academically inclined students, I am familiar with the aspects of a leader. As a recipient of the Ronald Reagan Leadership Award and captain of the winter track team, I have proven my leadership skills both in the classroom and on the track.
Overall, I strive to be a well-rounded student and athlete and I believe that I succeed in doing so.
