Personal Statement
PERSONAL INFORMATION -- I was born in Brighton Colorado on January 22, 2002. I have two brothers and one sister. My mother, Romy Lowrance, recently got her degree in Criminal Justice. My father, Ronnie Lowrance, went to college but did not pursue it, instead found himself with a pair of gloves on and a ring under his feet.
History Of Running
Running has always been something we did. My parents divorced when I was at a young age so transport was limited. Finding a way to the other parents house resulted in us walking or running since it was easier. Then high school hit and from there it got a little more serious when I took it to a competitive level. In all truth, college never seemed like something I'd do. I never believed that I was truly good enough to take my talent on to the next level, so I never looked into it. My sophomore year sparked the push when I won state, but it honestly wasn't enough. Everyone was running faster than I was in higher districts and they had a lot more coaches with more experience than the ones I had. So, running was still just fun at that point. The next year came and we found ourselves back at state, I was actually moving into a competitive mindset. After my feet crossed the finish line, I looked up to see my time of 50.5 and found a passion for the 400 as our 4x400M team took first later that day with me being the anchor. Going onto my senior year with limited time, I see myself in the next level. So here's to 2020 and a hopeful future at the next level.
