Shane Lopez '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shane Lopez. I am currently a Senior in High School. I am 5' 7" 140lbs. My events in track and field are the 800m, 600m, 400m, 200m, 4x800m, 4x400m, 4x200m, long jump, and occasionally the 4x100m. In the summer of 2010, at the end of my sophomore year I competed to qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic National Championships held at Norfolk University in Norfolk, Virginia. I placed 2nd at the National Qualifer in Chester, Pennsylvania in the 800m with a time of 2:00 in the 15-16 age division. This qualified me for the Junior Olympics. I attended the Junior Olympics and competed in the 800m race. As a junior I competed at the New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships and the New Balance Nationals. My dream in life is to compete in track and field at the collegiate level. I put tremendous effort into my training and enjoy constantly improving results. I have looked into several colleges such as Texas A&M, Texas Tech, University Of Texas, University of North Carolina and others. I am open to different schools and would be willing to look into any suggestions. My desired major is Accounting. My athletic goals are to compete in track and field for all 4 years of college at the highest level of competition my training will allow. Helping other athletes, being an example to them and assisting with their training to achieve their competetive goals is an aspiration of mine. Having knowledge of a sport that I love, why not share it with others?
