I started to run Cross Country and Track when I was in 8th grade to lose some weight, later that year I got surgery that disabled me from running comfortably and it made running nearly impossible after that. My high school career really kicked off when I started running in freshman year of high school, where my best 5k time was 23:20. I was the best on my team because a lot of other people quit because it was too hard. With me being one of the few left I was determined to be the greatest runner my school has ever seen and my work is still unfinished. That year I dropped a mile time of 5:49 and a 3k Steeplechase of 13:03. I knew I had a chance at being great. Sophomore year I dropped a 20:02 5k, a 4:57 mile, and a 11:30 3k Steeplechase. Unsatisfied, I only worked harder and I trained smarted. This junior season I ran an 18:37 5k, but my best performance was my 19:20 5k at Bowdoin. This past cross country season I made the all League honor and finished in 40th in my sectional championship, sophomore year I finished in 68th, my freshman year I finished in 100th. My junior season of track awaits me but I am very eager for big jumps in my performances, I will run faster than I did yesterday.
I've always been an excellent student always being in the 90's and above for my averages, I have made the honor role every year of high school and I strive to continue to see my name on that list. I always challenge myself with the honors classes, and AP courses. In my sophomore year I took 2 AP's, this Junior year I am taking 3 AP's. I am practicing for a great SAT score and to improve in classes that are challenging. I want to be a fast runner and an amazing student for my school.
