Personal Statement
After competing as a runner and jumper for Apex Friendship High School for almost 3 years
now, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience victory and defeat alongside my teammates. I’ve felt my heart break after hearing we missed qualifying for states by one point, and felt joy when we took 4th at states after only 3 years since our school first opened. Competing has helped mold me into who I am today, and I hope to continue both running and jumping at a collegiate level to further myself both mentally and physically.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned what it takes to be a good athlete, teammate, and person. I’m dedicated to performing at the highest level I can, as well as bringing leadership and positivity to my team. I’m looking for a school that is a good fit for my academics as well as my level of athleticism, where I can not only compete but prepare myself for a career after college. With my experience, determination, and character, I think I have the potential to be a solid addition to your team.
