Personal Statement
I started running track my freshmen year of high school mostly because my parents wanted me to do a sport and I wasn't very interested in playing other sports for my school. But it has turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life as I have completely fell in love with the sport, in part because of my amazing coach who has really put in the time and research to help develop me and the rest of our team. My commitment to the sport has come from a fierce competitive drive I have, and has pushed me to continue training past the ends of my seasons and devote time during my summer to work on running. Since starting my freshman year, I have always had one main goal, which is to be the fastest guy on the team. I always celebrate achieving new personal bests in my events but I don't lose sight of the main idea of all sports, which is to win. Ultimately that is still my mindset as I look for colleges and to continue my track career, to compete, to win and to develop myself to be the best and fastest version I can regardless of which division or college I am running for.
