Personal Statement
I have been running and jumping since I came in the high school level. Track was always an interest because even though the only way I could watch it happen was when the Olympics would appear on television, I luckily would find jumping events on Youtube, and I would study the way those guys jump. Same goes for running as well.
I have developed a comfortable way of adjusting myself to improve my jumps, and I recognize that a great technique goes far than just speed and power. I work hard to increase my leg power, even on my off days I set mini workouts when I am home.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I find time to do my job in the community as a young African American male, to become an example of excellence for my peers. I am in 3 leadership programs that are year round, I help in food banks, I talk to younger kids about being successful in high school.
I plan to reach college with a mindset of finding my true passion and doing what I love in track and field. I seek success to which ever college would look at me. I have the tools to be great, all I need is a blessing to lead me to it.
