Personal Statement
My name is Kyler Clark, cross country and track athlete for Enid High School in Oklahoma. I have recently qualified for the 2016 Oklahoma Cross Country State Championship, a huge accomplishment in my running career. I grew up a military kid, moving 5 times in 10 years. We recently moved back home to Oklahoma so I can attend high school there without any further moves. My parents are my main motivation, as they have always believed in me, and who push me to work hard, keep my affairs in line, and focus on school, track, and my future goal to attend engineering school. I also get inspiration from my teammates, including the seniors I met my freshman year who are in college running now. When I saw them run the first time, and saw how hard they worked, it really made me want to be like them and strive to be my very best. I really love running, and it's became my main focus in high school. I also participate in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC), where I can explore my options of a military career and expand upon my leadership values. Junior ROTC has also helped my leadership on the track and cross country teams, allowing me to help motivate my teammates and become a young leader for the team. I feel like i've found my calling and I'm determined to keep improving by continuously working hard, staying hungry, and keeping my eyes on the prize.
