Being a student-athlete, my adventure has been shaped by many different things in my life, all of which make me the person I am.
Growing up in a family that told me I could do anything I put my mind and effort into, I carry with me onto the field.
Three months ago, I took an interest in Track and Field, intrigued by the sheer amount of distance Olympians could throw. But this interest flourished when I saw some other athletes at my first meet and tried to compete with them.
With each meet, I discovered more about my physical abilities, personal growth, and discipline. Track and Field has taught me the significance of hard work, time management, and resilience. All qualities that I apply off the field as well.
Academically, I aim for the best, setting goals to challenge myself and pursue my passions. In high school, I aimed to maintain a large course load while excelling in mathematics, English and preparing myself for college. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my entire high school career. My long term goal is to earn a degree in engineering, using my academic experience to contribute to my career.
My journey so far has not been without obstacles. From injuries to balancing academic and athletic priorities, I have faced challenges that tested my determination and my school sport balance.
Nevertheless, each setback has only further pushed my drive to succeed, motivating me to get better and emerge stronger.
What sets me apart are my unique skills. The ability to be calm under pressure, my drive for constant improvement, and ability to inspire others in times of need.
Whether being an example for younger teammates, or instilling confidence in older teammates, I aim to make an impact whatever I do.
In conclusion, my experiences, passion for Track and Field, academic goals, perseverance, and personal qualities all define who I am. A student-athlete ready to move on to the next stage of my athletic and academic journey.
