Personal Statement
Track & Field became part of my life in 7th grade. I have dreamt of competing as a college athlete from the start and today this remains one of my biggest aspirations.
Track is not only an amazing sport, it is a great way to clear your mind. The feeling of freedom I get from running is what hooked me to the sport and is one of the reasons why I go to the track and work my hardest every day.
As a middle distance runner I primarily focus on the 800. At a competitive level I also have experience in the 400, the mile and running cross country. My high school goals are to run 1:50 second 800 meter, a 48 second 400 meter and a 16:00 for the 5K.
Academically speaking I have a 3.9 weighted GPA and I am considering a major in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
I feel leadership and courage are two important qualities that have helped shape my character. I have always been seen as a leader by my peers and am very comfortable taking this role whether it be in the classroom or on the field. I am also never afraid of failure so I continue to push myself to the limit.
The motto by which I try to live my life is - To not work your hardest is to sacrifice the gift.
