Matthew Rene '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Matt. I've been running since 6th grade in Ponaganset Middle School. I train 6 days a week during the school year as well as participate in summer running. I really enjoy running and setting personal goals for myself. I can be very competitive and am extremely hard on myself if I don't reach my personal goal for a specific race or season. I'm graduating in 2019 and look forward to going into the medical field to become an orthopedic surgeon. I'm currently 4th in my class but am trying desperately to reach 1st or 2nd in my class. I would love to attend a Division I or II school so I can continue running on a track team. I watch and run with David Principe from LaSalle Academy and strive to reach his goals. David (DJ) motivates me to try to keep up with him in track and cross-country and I know that someday I will reach that goal.
