Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Nicholas Cozzolino and I am a Senior at Westerly High School.   I started running road races in the 5th grade and competitively in Middle School  in the 6th grade, never thinking I would have the chance to become a colliegate runner.   Many miles and practices later,  I am extremely passionate about the sport of running and look to pursue my love for running at the collegiate level.   I have worked hard putting in the long miles,  speed work, and strength training sessions which have improved my times.  As my times decrease, Division 1 running not only interests me but motivates me to keep pushing myself day in and day out.  I incorporate a daily nutrition regimen and mobility work to keep my body functioning at optimum level and to reach my goal of running for a Division 1 college program.  Outside of running, school has been a big part of my life. Ever since I was young, I was always told to do well in school. Being a student- athlete I know how to balance academics with sports and I take pride in my academic grades.  As I continue to work hard to achieve my goals, I hope you will take the time to look at my profile and find that I am a good fit for your program. Thank you.
