Personal Statement

My name is Kyle Dodd.  I am currently a Junior at Wylie High School in Abilene Texas.  I am 6'1", and 165 pounds.  I would consider myself to be faster than average running an unofficial 40yrd dash in 4.7 seconds.  My most important accomplishment would either have to be competing in the AAU Jr. Olympics at 14 years old, or as Freshman, being the first leg of the third place mile relay team in the 3A regional track meet at Texas Tech University.  I have been running track for five years and would like to continue as long as possible.  I have also been a member of Cool Running’s Track and Field Club for 4 years.  I have very strong leadership skills and can offer that to any team I am apart of considering I am Co-Capitan of our varsity track team.  I am a hard worker and am very driven and passionate about what I do.  Competing at the collegiate level in track and field has always been a dream of mine.  The College Region that I prefer most would be Texas.  My personal preference as far as which college I would like to attend would be Texas Tech.    I have been to two of their camps and enjoyed them very much and learned a lot.  They have a wonderful track program and are very successful.  I have had family members and friends attend Tech and they have encouraged me to pursue my dream of being a part of the school.  Regardless, I am looking to go to a big four year college and obtain my Bachelor’s Degree.  I have not completely decided what I want to major in but I think I would like it to be in Exercise and Sport Sciences possibly pursuing acceptance into a Physical Therapy program.  My goals with track are that I would like to go as far and as long as I can.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
