I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an athlete. I played every sport I could try. I was introduced to shotput and discus by a close friend freshman year in high school and I was hooked at the first throw. took third in districts that freshman year. I loved the feeling of winning and loved the challenge of making myself better. As a Sophmore, I continued my training and by the end of the season, I became the best varsity thrower at my school. I love the strength, skill, technique, and personal growth that throwing has provided me and I plan to grow even more. I practice at our local ring often and study Olympian throwers to help myself with technique. I also attended my first throw camp last summer. My dream is to become a collegiate level athlete in throw sports and to contribute positively to a strong program.
I have learned so much about myself through sports . I have learned that I am: willing to put in the hard work to improve, dependable in a critical game times, good at taking direction from coaches and have the control to do well under pressure.
So in all, I am very motivated to achieve my dream of becoming a collegiate athlete.
