My goal is to run at an institution that is the right fit for me. I highly value academics, and I want to develop and succeed in the classroom as well as on the track. What makes me a good candidate is that I work very hard and I am still improving quite a bit. I know I haven't come close to my potential and that my times can get much faster senior year. What my friends, teammates, and coaches would all probably say sets me apart is my energy. I am quite energetic and use that energy to better myself, help the team, and push my teammates. I am positive and always excited to run. I bring this energy into all facets of my life and try to leave a mark on everything I do. Athletics have been a huge part of my life. I absolutely love sports and have played many throughout my childhood. I am a fierce competitor and brought this to soccer and running, my two main sports. In the classroom, I am just as driven as I am on the track. I care immensely about how I preform and always push myself to get the best grades possible. Maintaining high marks while competing in three varsity sports has been tough, but very much worth the effort. My personality, work ethic, and grades stood out to the faculty of my school when selecting who they thought should represent St. Stephen's in Japan as the exchange student. After being informed that I had been selected, I eagerly accepted and spent my entire sophomore year (11.5 months) living with host families in Japan. This experience has helped me become independent, responsible, and self-reliant, and I believe that it sets me apart from the rest.
