Personal Statement
Hi!
My name is Dylan and I am a senior at Dripping Springs High School. I am proud to announce that I signed to run for Western State and am very excited about training with coach Michael. It is going to be a great experience and looking forward to every day in Gunnison. I have been running Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track & Field since my freshman year under the guidence of Coach Marisa Maher. Our teams have been District Champions 2008,2009,2010 and I was captain of the XC team during the 2009 season and again have the honor of being this year's captain. I love running and have always believed in hard work on and off the course. I am process driven and alway seek ways to improve myself in a positive and productive mannner. I have goals for my running that extend welll in to adult life, such as running the Grand Canyon,Pacific Coast Trail and the Appalachian Trail.
I would like to attend a school that is medium in size with a program that I can contribute to and grow with. I love the outdoors and being surrounded by a stimulating environment inspires me the most ,so most of my college choices are in states that offer running trails, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I want to major in environmental studies. All in all I am looking forward to the experience of college and running for a program that believes in me and I am proud to give all my efforts to.
