Dan Metzger '19 Recruiting Profile

I'm Dan Metzger: athlete, distance runner, student, and volunteer. Before I was an athlete, I was a student. Ever since I can remember, I've been pushed to achieve excellence in whatever I do. My dad taught me that a 93 was a B, an 87 a C, and an 81 practically failing. As soon as I discovered track in 8th grade, I developed this all or nothing mindset. Whenever I get on the track I make sure to leave nothing behind. I love almost nothing more in life than the last lap of a race. I feel like my veins are on fire and a greater force is pushing me past the brink of exhaustion and into a realm that seems almost religious. This determination and drive makes me a great student, as well as athlete. I would love to study History and make a career out of that. Running in college is my dream and I know I can, and will be exceptional. But as long as I give all I can give in the classroom, on the track and in my relationships, I will be more than satisfied.
