Jesse Banner '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jesse Cole Banner, my friends and family call me Cole. I enjoy playing sports, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. I am 6' 3", 185 pounds, and run a 4.6s 40m dash. I have been participating in sports all four years of high school. As a freshman I played jv football, jv basketball, and ran jv track. My sophmore year i played jv football, jv basketball, varsity golf, and also ran varsity track. (I made it to area in the 110m hurdles and was an alternate to regionals) As a junior i played varsity football at linebacker and also led the team in tackles. I also played varsity basketball and ran varsity track. During my junior year in basketball we made it to the regional quarter finals. Since we made it that far it caused me to miss the first three trackmeets. During my junior year of track I placed 2nd in the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles at the district meet, 1st in the 110m hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles at area, 2nd in the 110m hurdles at regionals and qualified for the 300s, and also qualified for the state track meet in the 110m hurdles and placed 7th. Going into my junior summer I participated in a 7on7 football league in wich we made it to the state tournament in College Station. My senior summer I played 7on7 again and also led the team in touchdowns and made it to the state tournament once again.  So far in my senior year I played varsity football in which i was voted a team captain and a leader along with 1st team all district tightend, all district academic, 1st team all district outside linebacker, and 2nd team all state outside linebacker/cornerback. I did not play basketball this year because I wanted to focus on track and get a headstart on all of my competition. I plan on majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in wildlife biology. I would consider going to college just about anywhere but i would prefer staying in Texas. I have the heart and desire to run track in college and I know that I have yet to reach my full potential and I can only get better.
