Personal Statement
Since I was a child my running skills were evident. I have been in the school athletic program since the 7th grade. Before I was running for fun and now, I am running to represent my school. At my first cross country season, I realized my speed and endurance were beneficial. I got to showcase my abilities in my morning practices and during my meets.
In my freshmen year of high school, I was part of JV. Based on my skills, my coach selected me to be part of the Varsity team. Consequently, I pushed myself at an earlier age. We got to participate in the district and regional meets during my first two years of high school. For my junior year, I was able to make it to districts and regionals as an individual runner and achieved the 24th qualifier for regionals. Additionally, I was awarded MVP of the varsity team due to my performance and top rankings.
Academically, I have 3.8 GPA. I was admitted into a Media academy and gained expertise in broadcast journalism. I earned college credits while managing the demands of my track and cross-country seasons. I have a head start on my college education while earning the MPV award for cross country. I am looking to further improve my running skills with the right college while pursuing my four-year degree with a scholarship. I am confident in my work ethic and running skills to represent my college team. My goal is to achieve my maximum potential while representing my college.
