Personal Statement
Instead of wasting my time sitting on a couch waiting for opportunities that I think would come, I chase after every chance that I get to improve myself both in and outside of my sport.
Whether I’m on the track doing 400m repeats ,running on the grass logging in my miles, or evaluating my coursework, I make sure to put 110% effort in all I do. It frustrates me when I see others who have gifts and talents that they choose not to hone, even when they have everything they need.
I am always looking for new ways to become a faster and stronger runner. I would constantly find myself reading articles, watching videos, and asking for tips; essentially living and breathing running. I get satisfied when I accomplish my goals like improving my time and feel frustrated when I don’t run. I want to become a faster, smarter, and better runner. I want running to be the highlight of my life. My goals this year are to go sub 17:00 in the 5k and go sub 4:40 for the 1600M.
What makes me different from other runners is that I still want to run even after I’ve ran my race.
