Personal Statement

I started Pole Vault my senior year of high school. I was coached by a friend that was also a senior during that time. On my very first jump, I cleared 9 feet. After long practices and hard work, by the end of the season I was jumping 14 feet. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep practicing during the summer. There is still plenty room for improvement in my form. Now, all I need is for a coach to give me a chance and allow me to reach my full potential. I strongly believe that with the proper coaching and the adequate facilities, I will be able to reach much higher jumps that 14 feet. My goal is to be an exemplar athlete at the college I end up in.
