Hi, my name is Jonah Schoppe. I am a senior at Panguitch High school. I have enjoyed athletics ever since I was a young boy. I have wrestled since I was in pre-school and started to enjoy running as a Jr.high student. Simply put, I love to run and wrestle. I love the feeling that I get from pushing myself to do better, and to win. Going to a small school has given me the opportunity to pursue athletics in more than one field. Right from the beginning, I knew that JV was not good enough for me. I have pushed myself to make our Varsity team every year and so far I have met this goal. I have placed at state every year that I have competed so far in Track/field, Wrestling, and Cross-Country. Last year I took 1st at 106# in wrestling and this year I took 1st at state in Cross-Country with a time of 16:34. I have set goals to place at state for Track and wrestling this year as well. I am self-motivated and push myself outside of the wrestling room and track with cross-fit training. I enjoy these sports because I know that I can get out of them what I put into them. That said, I am also team motivated. I led my track team to 2 state championships in 2014 and 2015. I also led my Cross-country team to 2 back-to-back state championships this year and last. All of this is hard for me to discuss because my parents have taught me to exercise humility and I believe it is a true quality to have if you are confident in yourself. I believe that if you give any of my coaches a call you will be able to see what is great about me. I want to win. I will work hard. I am coachable and willing to do what it takes to be your next champion. I have set a goal to compete at the college level. I am young for my class and wont turn 18 until July of 2017. Most of my competition so far has been guys 1 year older than me and I am winning. Competing against older guys that have already been in college inspires me to want to beat them as well. Give me the opportunity and I will work hard and win for you. Jonah Schoppe 435-676-2043
