Personal Statement
My whole life I have always grown up being really competitive. This drives me to push harder and put in the time to become better. I wholeheartedly believe that what you put in is what you get out. The expectations I set for myself, my faith, and my family have helped me become who I am today and will guide me to what I hope to become. I will be serving on a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and will return to compete with the class of 2017.
Playing football for 10 years, including many indoor league seasons, has really helped my life in so many ways. I'm seeking to learn even more life lessons while making an impact at the collegiate level. Academics are a high priority and I want to attend a college that can help fit those needs. Currently I have a 3.85 GPA while taking multiple Concurrent Enrollment and AP college credit classes.
One of the main things that sets me apart from others is my knowledge of the game. I have a very analytical mind and I find myself thinking strategy and what would be best during each game situation. I hope one day to become an engineer or an offensive coordinator and try to use my knowledge of the game to benefit others. There are few other things also help set me apart from other athletes. My height, my speed, and my precise route running were major factors in my success. As a junior, I spent countless hours outside of sanctioned practices working on footwork and running routes so it would be much easier to get open during the games. The difference from my junior to senior seasons were so drastic and I truly believe that I became so much better because of the hard work I put in both during practice and on my own. I also was voted team MVP by my teammates as a senior. In the spring I run track and this is very important to me. My desire to compete is carried over from football into track. As a junior, my first year hurdling, I placed 5th in state in the 110m hurdles running a 14.92 and 7th in the 300m hurdles with a personal record of 38.51.
I value the importance of a name and I will never do anything to disgrace the name of my parents or the rest of my family.
