I came into Track and Field a little later than most. I spent most of my time in school playing baseball in the Spring and not competing in a Winter Sport. I decided to try Indoor Track during my sophomore year and really enjoyed it so I decided to make the switch from baseball to Outdoor Track in the Spring of my Sophomore year. It was then that I discovered how much I loved it and had good success and was able to run at the New England Championships as part of the 4 x 800 relay team. The rest of the team was all seniors. I then looked forward to my junior year of Indoor Track and made it a goal to get to New Englands for an individual event. I worked very hard and was proud to qualify for the New England Indoor Track Championships in March 2019 in the 1000m event. While competing in that event at New Englands I set a PR and broke the school record. Coming into this most recent season of Outdoor Track, my goal was to run the 800m and I wanted to get back to New Englands again. I was able to run at New Englands as part of the 4 x 800 team again in early June. I didn't quite qualify for the 800m individually, but I ran a personal best of 2.01 and broke the school record which had stood for 19 years. I may have come into track later than most, but I work very hard and am committed to improving. I and a solid student and school and work hard to keep my grades as high as possible. It is my goal to run track in College. I hope you will look at me and consider me.
