I started participating in track as a 6th grader at the urging of my AAU Basketball Coach. Track has taught me that God-Given talent will only take you so far. Hard work and determination will finish the race. There are many athletes that are far more gifted and have other more identifiable attributes (height, weight, longer stride, etc.), but I have an unyielding desire to be successful. I credit my parents for always pushing me to be the best me I can be. My greatest track and field influence has been Usain Bolt. I remember watching training videos of Mr. Bolt and he constantly reiterated that you have to do something everyday to improve yourself. My goal is to attend a Division I or II college or university. I aspire to be an impact student athlete on the track and in the classroom. At this time, I would like to major in International Relations/History or Sports Medicine. I believe that I am an excellent prospective college student athlete, because I am confident, diligent, committed, coachable and dedicated to my future. In addition to being an overall excellent two sport student athlete (track/football) I have an exemplary attitude. I have learned to use my strengths to compensate for weaknesses and I understand that I am constantly evolving, both academically and athletically. Most importantly, I firmly understand how the combination of academics and athletics - appropriately applied - can change my life.
